Migrator

A free plugin for moving to Fernlight. It runs a read-only audit of your current site, then creates safe Fernlight draft copies for supported builder content that you review before publishing. Your originals are never touched.

Native AI details in Migration

Migration’s AI angle is evidence, not automation theater. It creates local review material that helps you or an AI assistant understand what can move cleanly, what needs judgment, and what draft output was created.

  • AI review handoff exports provide JSON or Markdown summaries with detected builder, block counts, clean and approximate mappings, preserved gaps, recommended Fernlight patterns, and next review steps.
  • Gap explanations translate unmapped builder constructs into plain-language notes, owner-review questions, and suggested rebuild direction.
  • Draft provenance stores source title, source URL, source status/type, run ID, mapping confidence, block summary, target list, and source/draft hashes on every created Fernlight draft.
  • Hard boundary: exports stay local, include no full page content, make no network calls, and originals are never modified.

What it does

  1. Audits your site read-only, detecting Kadence, Stackable, and CoBlocks content and counting it by builder and post type.
  2. Creates Fernlight drafts from supported builder content with block-by-block mapping and a confidence report (clean / approximate / needs a match).
  3. Flags anything it can't confidently convert instead of dropping it, stores draft provenance, and leaves every original untouched.
  4. Exports a local AI review handoff pack in JSON or Markdown with fit verdict, confidence counts, gap explanations, and next review steps — no full page content and no phone-home.

Builders it audits

Kadence, Stackable, CoBlocks, and core/block-theme content are detected in the audit. Draft creation now uses the shared Fernlight mapping engine for supported builder content, with Kadence still carrying the deepest semantic mapping coverage.

How to use it

  1. Install and activate Fernlight Migration on your current site.
  2. Open Tools › Fernlight Migration and run the audit.
  3. Review the mapping report and create Fernlight drafts.
  4. Adjust the drafts and publish when ready; deactivate when you're done — it's a one-time tool.

Migration never modifies source content — the audit is read-only, output is draft-only, and every action is protected by nonce and capability checks. Prepared for WordPress.org after real-fixture smoke.
